In this class we will recognize the interconnectedness of our mind/body, is a blend of (adaptive, gentle) hatha yoga to access its potential physical benefits and meditation (in the mindfulness tradition) to deepen its mental/emotional benefits.
With the hectic pace and demands of modern life, many people feel stressed and over-worked. It often feels like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. Our stress and tiredness make us unhappy, impatient and frustrated. It can even affect our health. This is a profound spiritual practice you can enjoy throughout the day, not just while seated in meditation.
This is a power vinyasa class combining strengthening, flexibility and movement. We start off with a nice warm up followed by an upbeat series of poses to get your heart rate up and wind down with some stretching and a sweet savasana. This class will leave you feeling strong, rejuvenated and relaxed.
Core Flow will restore and strengthen all muscles in the core. The class is suitable for all levels and will consist of breath work to engage deep abdominal muscles, yoga poses linked to breath which activate and condition the core, as well as deep stretching and strengthening of the muscles that work closely together with the core to achieve maximal benefit.
Relax and renew your mind, body and spirit in this gentle yoga class. This class incorporates the use of props to assist in holding poses for an extended period of time. Experience deep relaxation as your body surrenders into these passive poses.
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan with every class will consisting of Pranayama (Breathwork) Kriya (series of postures) deep relaxation and meditation in order to bring more awareness to the connection between body, mind, and spirit.
Yin focuses on stretching the deep connective tissue in the joints and lengthening the time spent in each pose. You will do fewer postures in a yin yoga class, and because you are working on stretching, will not be engaged in standing or strengthening poses. In a yin class, you will hold each pose for approximately five minutes.
Baby and Me
Practicing yoga with your baby isn’t just totally cute, it’s fun too! As you move thru each pose the two of you are bonding. You are also toning your entire body as your baby develops motor skills. During this gentle yoga practice, you will challenge your core, thighs, arms and shoulders and your baby will also benefit. The more relaxed your are, the more relaxed your baby will be!! ages 4 weeks to crawling.
